 Agricultuial heritage in India  our heritage is unique than any other civilisation. As a citizen of India, we must feel proud about our rich cultural heritage. Agriculture is benefitted from the wisdom and teaching of great sense. It has along history dating back to neoalithic age 7500 BC to 4000BC. It change the life style of early man from nomadic hunters of wild berries and roots to cultivator of land.   formation of Indian subcontinent 250 million years ago earth super continent (one huge land mass ) called Pangea. This super continent was srrounded by gigantic ocean called Pan thalassa.

 History:-  Continous records of past events  Heritage - Inherited values ​​carry from one generation to aonther generation.  Agricultural heritage:- values ​​and traditional practices adopted from ancient India which are move relevant for present day systems. objectives of the course  1) Agriculture in India - way to life and not an occupation. 2) to increase awareness of the rich heritage of Indian agriculture which is unique than any other civilisation. 3) To implent ensure of pride amongst the people particularly agri students as our agriculture has sustainable practices for generation .

 The ICAR System  a) Mission : Sustainable growth of Indian agriculture by interfacing education, research and extension initiatives complimented with efficient and effective institutional, infrastructure and policy support that will create a proper fit between the humanity and its habitat. 5  b) Vision : “To harness science to ensure comprehensive and sustained physical, economic and ecological access to food and livelihood security to all Indians, through generation, assessment, refinement and adoption of appropriate technologies.”  c) Mandate : (i) To plan, undertake, aid, promote and coordinate education, research and its application in agriculture, agro-forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries, home science and allied sciences.  (ii) To act as a clearinghouse of research and general information relating to agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries, home science and allied sciences through its publications and  information system, and instituting and promoting transfer of technology
